Former multi weight world champion Gerry Peñalosa retired in 2010 but is now a boxing promoter and has a show on Saturday in Mandaluyong City which will be headlined by his nephew Dave Peñalosa.

Dave only turned pro last year but as the son of another former world champion, Dodie Boy Penalosa, boxing is very much in his blood and the 21 year old already has a 4-0 record. His brother, Dodie Jnr, is also a promising young boxer.

His opponent in this super bantamweight battle will be Thailand’s Yodpichai Sithsaithong who has a 7-5 record and a reputation as being a bit of a banger, although he has lost his last two fights. It is one of two Thailand vs Philippines matchups on the card with 28-6 Eden Sonsona going up against 7-2 Petchnamnung Sithsaithong in another super bantamweight clash.

The event is taking place at the Mandaluyong City Gym on August 18th and will be aired live on AKTV13 in the Philippines from 9pm.
